8  Add The Audio Freezer to the Toolbar (macOS)

When you drag the playhead on the timeline, it activates the Audio Freezer as long as you’re holding down the mouse or trackpad. But if you want to hear the freezer run for longer—say, to help you look for the notes on your instrument—you’ll need to add a dedicated button to your toolbar so you can run it as long as you’d like.

Step 1: Present the customization sheet

  • Right-click the toolbar area, and choose ‘Customize Toolbar…’

Step 2: Drag the Pitch control into the toolbar

  • Locate the freezer item in the sheet of controls
  • Drag and drop the pitch item into the toolbar—we put ours next to the isolation item

Step 3: You’re done!

  • Click ‘Done’

Now when you click on the Freezer item in the toolbar, you’ll hear the freezer turn on at the current playhead location.

Tip

You can also control the Audio Freezer using a custom keyboard or MIDI binding.
