Capo 4.4 is now available for Macs with macOS 14 and later, and iPhones and iPads with iOS 17 and later.
In this update, Capo now supports custom MIDI and keyboard controls across both platforms, and on macOS the feature has been completely revamped. Most notably, you can now configure bindings that can pass along changing values from continuous controls on your MIDI hardware. For example, you can now adjust Capo's playback speed by manipulating a volume pedal.
You can also create bindings that execute multiple commands, which can be very useful. For example, you can create a keystroke that sets the playback speed to a fixed value, and then starts playback. This would allow you to have one key that starts playback at 50% speed, another that starts at 75% speed, and another that runs at full speed.
Another new kind of control that you can define is one that plays audio while a key (or MIDI control) is held down. For example, you can start playback when the period key is pressed, and then stop playback when it's released. This can be really useful when you're working with the transcription playhead, and you want to listen only to one or two notes at a time.
You can learn more about the all-new remote control feature in the user guide (for iOS, for macOS), and you can download Capo 4.4 from the App Store (for iOS, for macOS). Also, please join the Capo Community to discuss how you're using the remote control feature, or to get help with setting up your own custom controls.
