I stand about 6'3 1/2" tall — when I'm standing tall. Sadly, like many others in the same height range as I am, I slouch more than I should. I blame it on my surroundings.

In general, life as a tall person rules. I would hate to be any shorter than I am. However, living as a minority among the vertically challenged has its challenges. Every armrest, handrail, countertop, sink, bathroom mirror, and door handle is just too short.

As a result of my surroundings, I tend to slouch in order to compensate for the difference between where my hands are, and the position of door handles, handrails, etc. Even when I sit at the table for dinner, I tend to slouch in order to lean comfortably on the table.

In my career of choice, my height haunts me daily. The standard desk height is also too short, and standard office chairs don't support me properly. Most of the time, chairs are designed with a fixed lumbar support, and to make matters worse, the maximum height of the back often falls short of placing the lumbar support in my lumbar region.

Thankfully, my employer is quite understanding, and hooked me up with something a little nicer for my back (with a doctor's note, of course!). However, using my own funding, accomodating my back issues has been challenging. Proper support doesn't come cheap.

Lately, FuzzMeasure sales have allowed me to consider buying a chair to better accomodate my stature. I spend a lot of time working on FuzzMeasure, which causes my chronic back issues to flare up further.

So, I ordered myself a Herman Miller Mirra, which is the most comfortable, theraputic chair I've ever parked my butt. However, I got a mere 10 minutes, so only time will tell. At the left, you'll see it in the (approximate) colour scheme I ordered it with.
