I Need Some Brave Folks

• Chris Liscio

I need to gather a few brave folks that would like to help me out with FuzzMeasure 1.4. I simply want to get people to help give me a sense of what works and what doesn't. Right now, most stuff doesn't.

What I need from you:

Time. Between 2 and 3 hours should suffice, in total, per version. Of course, I won't mind if you spend more time than this.

Thoroughness. I need you to find my bugs, and then verify for me that I fixed them in future versions. I really dislike when I spend a lot of time fixing a bug for someone, and then I never hear back from them about the bug fix working.

Patience. You have to make sure that you separate all your sensitive FuzzMeasure data from 1.3 from FuzzMeasure 1.4. I broke backwards-compatibility, so you don't want to overwrite your FuzzMeasure 1.3 files.

Tolerance. FuzzMeasure 1.4 lacks a lot of features still (the UI that allows you to modify the impulse window still isn't done), and it may lock up or crash on you.

A registration fee. You will get FuzzMeasure 1.4 with your purchase of FuzzMeasure 1.3 anyway, and I only want people to help me test the fully registered version. Obviously, if you already bought any of my 1.x versions, you don't need to worry about this.

What you'll get from me:

More attention to requested features. If you really, really need a particular feature for 1.4, and I think it makes sense to add to 1.4, I will do my best to accomodate you.

Continued transparency. I never hide anything from my customers. If I screwed something up, I'll let you know about it. If I'm having trouble with something, I'll probably tell you what problems I'm encountering.

Gratitude. If you don't see your name in the FuzzMeasure credits after helping me out with the testing, file a bug, because I obviously made a mistake by not thanking you publicly.

If you're interested in helping me out, send an email to fuzzmeasure@supermegaultragroovy.com, and let me know you'd like to participate in the FuzzMeasure 1.4 beta program (so the FogBugz filter can try to make heads or tails of where it should put the emails). Thanks!
