A Lot Less Wired

I managed to find a 12" iBook G4 today! Not only that, but I was able to see pretty much every single Apple machine that is on the market right now in person! This doesn't sound so impressive, but given where I live, it's not easy to find a place that has display models for the entire line. </p> <p> When I finally compared the 14" iBook to the 12" iBook in person (after drooling over all those wicked iMac G5s), I could notice that magnifying the display detracted from the overall display quality. Most of all, the anti-aliasing of the text was annoying to look at. This could be because the iBook defaults to the CRT font smoothing by default, but there were other things that looked noticeably better on the 12". Certainly, the $350 difference between the two models will be better spent on upgrading my iBook to 1.25GB of RAM. </p> <p> So far, I can tell that this little machine is really snappy. Also, the keyboard allows me to type at least 30% faster than my desktop. Watch this space for some FuzzMeasure updates coming soon! </p>
