A Little Calmed Down

Even though I wasn't happy with the (lack of) knowledge of the Best Buy staff, I was totally ready to save a few bucks on the iBook G4 14". Sure enough, there was yet another error. Their online stock was showing they had them, even though they didn't. Not only that, but the one they reported as "new, from factory" was actually "on display", and was sold earlier today.

I decided to just bite the bullet and "order" a brand-new iBook G4 12" from our local Apple reseller. Fortunately, there are two already on order, and one of them was not allocated to anyone at the time of my call. I'm pretty excited about the fact that these were ordered on October 28th (and should arrive any day now).

Unfortunately, another part of me is worried that they'll screw up and not give me the one that arrives soon. You see, the saleswoman was nice enough to put a backup plan into effect, which is essentially a brand new order placed on my behalf. However, she did so because she was not sure that they'd call me upon receiving the first batch of iBooks. I will take her advice and call often to keep on top of the situation.
