…Apple goes and makes GarageBand so darned addictive to play with!

I am now starting to regret the sale of my XP-50, but then again, I think that's a bit more keyboard than I'd need for just hacking around anyway. One of these guys will probably satisfy my needs quite well, and at $99 US that's a pretty good deal.

I always wanted "a MIDI rack in my computer" and now I have it. :)

Some have complained that GarageBand would make it "too easy" for people to make music on their own without true talent or skill or whatever. I say phooey to them! You can import a pre-made MIDI loop that is in the same key as your song, and voila! More consonance, and less dissonance, all at the click of the mouse. Once you get bored of the default loops (which doesn't take long) you can easily tool around with them (and learn to play them!) to get your own, unique sound.

Now I'm wondering if Apple will be opening up the specs for making your own virtual instruments for GarageBand. It would be cool to see some people create add-ons that do physical modelling and perhaps some analog instrument simulators. Yum.
